Difference in total amount charged and Invoice totals

Category: Customer Portal Category: Billing in the Customer Portal Updated: December 20, 2025

This article explains why the actual amount charged to your payment method may differ from the total displayed on your Petal Host invoice.

Multi-currency billing

As described in our Billing Policy, Petal Host accepts multiple currencies as displayed on our website.

Currency conversion process

Petal Host attempts to charge in your selected currency whenever possible. However, if your payment gateway does not support the selected currency:

  • The amount is automatically converted to INR (Indian Rupees).
  • The charge is processed in INR by the payment gateway.

Why totals may not match

When non-INR amounts on your invoice are converted to INR by the payment gateway:

  • Exchange rates fluctuate in real-time.
  • Gateway fees or processing charges may apply.
  • Rounding differences occur during conversion.

As a result, the final charged amount in INR may differ slightly from the invoice total shown in your selected currency.

Example

Invoice shows: $10.00 USD
Converted by gateway: ₹834.50 INR (due to current exchange rate)
Charged amount may vary slightly from displayed invoice total.
