This article describes how to upgrade your hosting package. Upgrades are processed within 24 hours (usually faster), with no penalty—you only pay the difference between packages.
Before you start
If you do not know how to log in to the Customer Portal, please see: How to access the PetalHost Customer Portal.
Upgrading a shared or reseller hosting package
To upgrade a shared or reseller hosting package, submit a billing support ticket:
- Log in to the Customer Portal.
- Go to Support Tickets.
- Create a new ticket specifying:
- Current package you want to upgrade
- New package you want
- Billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually)
Upgrading to a VPS package
To upgrade from shared/reseller to VPS, order it as a new service (support ticket not sufficient):
- Log in to the Customer Portal.
- On the menu bar, click SERVICES, then ORDER NEW SERVICES.
- In the Categories sidebar, select:
- VPS Hosting (unmanaged VPS)
- Managed VPS Hosting (managed VPS)
- Select your desired VPS package and click Order Now.
After migrating your data to the VPS, cancel your old shared/reseller plan.
Upgrading existing account to new package limits
Petal Host occasionally updates package limits to match industry standards. Existing customers can request these upgrades:
- Go to Support Tickets.
- Submit a ticket only if you're close to reaching a limit (manual upgrade process).
